I love Katie’s photography and am so inspired by her (esp. since she uses a point-and-shoot – same model as mine!) I’ve contacted her directly in the past for some photography advice and she has been more than helpful. I look forward to her posts and can’t wait to see what she’ll try next.

It amazing how much you can improve with a few tips. I don’t have fancy equipment, but once I heard a few do/don’ts of food photography I became so much more confident.

Alta – the sorbet photo has a white foam board in the background. The stripes are scrapbook paper. And the aqua is a crumpled up dinner napkin badly in need of ironing!

Wow, what an improvement! I love that apricot sorbet too. I love the angle, the composition. Is that tissue paper behind it? The colors are just so spring/summer-y!

What a difference between that first foodphoto and the ones after that. That apricot sorbet is really my favorite too. Absolutely gorgeous and great colors and composition. Like Joy is saying; that could easily feature in a Martha Stewart magazine.

That photo of the apricot sorbet looks like it was from a Martha Stewart magazine! Love, love it.

It’s a privilege to see how one’s photography evolves through time and experience. Thanks for sharing your photos and tips. I have a sheer curtain, too. Helps when the daylight is harsh.
